August Out of the Box handmade sampler

The "Sand In Your Shorts" August Out of the Box sampler went on sale at the beginning of the month and I just could not resist scooping up one for myself. I love Out of the Box samplers and try to get one every few months - they satisfy the urge for cute handmade soaps, tarts, lotions, candles, bath and body products and more.

The sampler box and edible item pack
What's inside this month's box? Tons of stuff...

Variety of soaps
From L to R: Skin Caring Soaps sent in a sample of their Bergamot Lemongrass Lavender Shaving Soap; Recherche gave a sample of their Bergamot Coriander soap (with that sweet little wax seal on top!); Tiki Bar Soap sent in Fluffy Pink Candy soap; Back to Basics has a cute little bar of their tea and herb soap in Country Peach Passion; the sponsor of this month's box, Beaux Savons Frais sent in Sandy Toes soap and their clay detox face mask, and ACTZ cosmetics made this awesome watermelon soap!

Scented tarts
From L to R: Ugly Duckling Designs made a flip flop wax tart; Poodle Dance sent in a whole 6-pack tart in "Blue Angel scent" - honey, dewberry, red berry, vanilla, caramel, cotton candy, chocolate!; The Melt Shoppe has a Black Raspberry Vanilla Tart and Candle Confectionery sent in a cotton candy tart. Honestly, all these tarts smell absolutely amazing - these are my favourite scents from a sampler pack so far!

Bath and Body
From L to R: Chloe Grace sent in soap bath fizzers; Better Body Better You gave me a sample of their foot detox soak; Lost Lemonade sent in some type of scrub - I wish it was clearly marked but I think it is a coffee body scrub sample and Slippery Slope Soaps sent two items - a yummy whipped sugar scrub (love my body scrubs!) and wax tarts in Sun and Sand scent.

Candle, jewellery and paper goods
From L to R: Sharon's Candle Shop sent in a candle that smells like a day at the beach - literally, there's even decorative sand included! Kyote's Kreations made these little seahorse earrings - for lounging poolside or at the dock (summer's not over yet!) Queen Vanna Creations has decorative clothespins and a mini clothesline - I am always using clothespins around the house so these are welcomed. And Caffeinated Papercuts made this adorable lighthouse card; I really love this company's designs - I gave one of their cards to my dad on Father's Day as well.

Edibles
From L to R: The edibles bag - a couple interesting things this time; first, tea candies and ice tea mix from SBS teas and a spice mix rub from Sneaky Cakes. That spice mix makes me want to bake up some potato wedges - drizzle a little olive oil, sea salt on it as well - mmmmm :)

Coupon codes (sorry this didn't photograph too well - they also have the codes listed
on their website)
This box contained samples from 20 companies. I liked how many of the products were focused on the summer/sand/beach theme. My favourites are the greeting card, the flip flop and black raspberry vanilla melt and the cute watermelon soap! There are still a few of these boxes left, they cost $25 (shipping included U.S./$12 additional shipping to Canada. You can also add insurance if you like for $1.85). Boxes go on sale usually the first Monday of every month, but check their facebook page for updates. I think the next box for me might be the Halloween box in October (are you thinking about your costume yet?! It's August!! Time to start planning ;), or the Coffee, Tea, Latte box in November (love my caffeine, and haven't got a full edibles box before).

    1. The shipping is a bit pricey, but I do notice when it comes in that the cost of shipping on the label is always more than I paid for, so I don't mind too much.
